Structured Data

Standardized Schema.org markup embedded in your web pages to help search engines understand your content and generate rich snippets.

Full definition

Structured data refers to a standardized markup format added to your pages' HTML code to help search engines precisely understand their content. This markup is based on Schema.org, a common vocabulary developed jointly by Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Yandex. It is generally presented in JSON-LD format, integrated into a script tag on the page.

For an e-commerce site, the most important types of structured data are Product (product listing with price and availability), AggregateRating (average rating and review count), Review (individual reviews), and BreadcrumbList (breadcrumb trail). These markups allow search engines not only to index your pages, but also to display enriched information directly in search results.

The AggregateRating type is particularly strategic for merchants collecting reviews: when correctly implemented, Google displays stars in search results (rich snippets). These visible stars increase the click-through rate (CTR) by 20 to 30%, which directly translates into more qualified traffic without increasing the advertising budget.

Concrete example

A kitchen equipment merchant implements the AggregateRating Schema.org markup on its product pages based on 1,200 reviews collected via Review Collect (average rating: 4.7/5). In the following weeks, its pages appear with yellow stars in Google Search. Its CTR rises from 4.2% to 6.1%, representing 45% more organic visits without any additional investment.

The same benefit applies to category pages: by adding an ItemList Schema.org dynamically generated from the best-rated products, the merchant sees some of its categories appear in enriched Google Shopping blocks and featured snippets. Trust displayed before the click radically changes visitor perception.

With Review Collect

Review Collect automatically generates the Schema.org AggregateRating markup from reviews collected on your store. Once a minimum threshold of reviews is reached, the widget displayed on your product pages is accompanied by the corresponding JSON-LD, directly readable by Googlebot.

With 30x more reviews collectible in 30 days, you quickly reach the threshold needed to activate rich snippets. Your reviews no longer serve only conversion on your site: they fuel your organic visibility and reduce your dependence on paid campaigns.
